St Michael’s Church
This daughter church was established in 1893 and refurbished for
its centenary in 1993. It is situated on level ground near the centre
of the town so it is popular with the more elderly members of our
community because of its easier access. It is also used for social
gatherings and PCC meetings. Plans are in place to further improve the building and extend its use within the parish.
St Michael's is a lovely little Church, fondly known as ' The Tin Church ' to all the locals in Hythe. It is a little over 100 years old and has a regular band of Worshippers who attend all services, which are conducted by the Reverend desmond Sampson.
There is a small Choir of 9 ladies who support the 11.15am Matins service every Sunday, guided by Pat, our loyal Organist. We have an informal choir prctice ussualy every 2 weeks, and any new recruits are always welcome. The church is also used on other occasions, such as Lent Luches, Lent talks and numerous other functions. It is in the centre of town and has easy access which makes it ideal for all age groups. |
