The Sunday Sing-a-long
The second Sunday of each month sees a group of intrepid “singers” gathering in the church car park at 2.45pm. Armed with a CD player, large print hymn books and loads of enthusiasm they are about to visit three of Hythe’s nursing homes to sing to the residents. The afternoon will sometimes begin with a division of labour (numbers permitting); spaces in cars are filled and they are ready for the off. Hythe, Tynwald and Highfield are the homes visited. Hymns vary; the old favourites are always popular.
Do you enjoy singing? -- if you do then come along and join this group. It’s always fun and there is definitely no need to have any special singing ability!! All you need is enthusiam, enjoyment of good fellowship and the pleasure of singing well- know hymns. The residents in the homes really do enjoy seeing different faces and joining in the singing. Why not give it a try? You will be very welcome. We look forward to seeing you. Joan Ross. |
