A Welcome
A warm welcome to St Leonard's Church, Hythe! This church, which has stood here for a thousand years, has frequently been described as a fine, elegant and impressive building. It stands proud, looking down over the town, and on a clear day the coast of France can be seen from many of its vantage points.
Thousands of visitors pass through its doors every year
but the greatest glory of St Leonard's is its role to worship and glorify God.
The church is unusually full
of features that will bring to life the devotions and prayer life of our medieval predecessors. Today it continues, first and foremost, as the spiritual home of a worshipping community of Christians. While you linger in this place please take the time to stop and pray for those who worship here and continue to uphold the inspiration of their ancestors.
